And The Winner Is. . .

I guess the odds were in her favor. She found me on KSL and has commented on EVERY single post since I started this promotion! Congrats to MINDY HODGES who is the winner of my free session!!! I can't wait to meet you and your darling little girl!

I took some photos of Camiah right before I sent her off to kindergarten earlier today and thought I'd share. She looked so cute in her school uniform. I know I have a studio right here, but being surrounded by such a beautiful natural setting, I much prefer photographing outdoors.

I also took a picture of her lunch on the first day of school. Since it was a very special day going off to the big grown up kindergarten, I thought it was appropriate to make her a butterfly. It represents spreading her new beautiful wings. New adventures certainly are on the horizon! She ate every last drop including the fresh green beans from our garden.

Utah Children's Photographer - SOPHIE

Sophie is an absolutely adorable three year old! She was so cooperative and became a star poser with her big blue eyes and strawberry blond curls!
All these photos were taken in her incredibly beautiful yard!

SNEAK PEEK FOR JULIE

Julie was my best friend in jr. high. She just had her fourth child and spent seven weeks in the hospital. Yes, you heard me right, seven weeks - pretty much the entire summer!!! Look at her trophy! Isn't he just a precious little treasure? CONGRATULATIONS! I was lucky enough to photograph her other beautiful children too! And boy, are they ALL so beautiful - just like their parents!

So much more to come. . .

Utah Children's Photographer - TANNER

Congratulations Tanner! This handsome boy recently turned 8 and was baptized! It started raining right before our outdoor shoot and so we took some studio shots. We decided to get up really early the next morning before the sunrise to get our outdoor shots. He was such a great sport to get up so early and let me click away at him, again & again. I was even lucky enough to get some shots with him and his beautiful mom. I can't even believe how beautiful Amy, Tanner's mom, looks so bright and early in the morning. Of course she could pass for a 20 year old.

Utah Senior Photographer - CADE

This was a really fun photo shoot! Cade sings & plays the guitar and I was lucky enough to hear him play during our shoot. I could tell that he could really feel the music. He is a great debater and is on his high school debate team. Naturally, becoming an attorney is in his future plans. He also loves tennis. I told Cade if he wanted to earn some extra money for college he could certainly have a modeling career! Usually it's a little harder to photograph guys but Cade was a natural!

Utah Children's Photographer - TAYLOR

This is one of the sweetest kids I know. I'm not saying that because I'm biased, he is just such a good kid! 8th grade here he comes! I have a feeling by the end of this year his voice is going to be much deeper. Right now our voices are so similar, when people call they get the two of us mixed up. There was no preparation for this photo shoot - no grooming or hair tousling . I got some new background paper and he was so sweet to just pose for me while I tried them out.

My Love of Photography

Not only do I love portrait photography, but I love to photograph nature. I'm an avid hiker and any chance I get, I'll grab my big huge camera that weighs an absolute ton and take it with me. I've been out in nature a lot lately. I've been hiking, camping, fishing with the kids, etc., and thought I would post some photos of our happenings. Each photo tells a story that is dear to my heart.

One of god's finest creations! I love the wasatch mountians.

There is nothing more relaxing than lounging around a campfire surrounded by beautiful trees looking heavenward. If you look closely you can see the smoke from our fire.

Experimenting with my camera is one of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon. My dad is in focus in this first photo and my husband, Jimmy, is in focus in the next one.

Hiking up one of my favorite paths close to home. The rest of the images are from this super scenic hike.

Even though a thistle is just a prickly weed, there is just something wild & beautiful about it in this setting.

Look how charming a stagnant pond can be. I love the reflection of the trees off the water. This pond and the area surrounding it was actually in the movie "Saints & Soldiers."

And of course this last photo is at the top of my little hike overlooking the valley. Too bad I couldn't capture the panoramic view I was experiencing, but here is a slice of it to enjoy!
